One of my favorite games growing up was the Halo series, so to expand my character modeling skills from bulky armor, I decided to try a more "slimmed down" suit. And what better armor to do than the classic Mjolnir armor Master Chief uses in Halo 2 and 3! This was a blast to work on, and I was proud of how my 2D/3D painted style improved here. I painted the backgrounds to match the cover art, which I think brought it all together. I learned early on that modeling all the detail on the armor was going to take me more time and add complexity to the model. So where I could, I textured some of the detail on to save myself polygons. The model is rigged, and I plan to make some small animations with it soon. This was also my first project to gain traction on social media, with tens of thousands of views on the reels I made.

I decided to model and texture the warthog too because why not? Chief needs his whip! It was more challenging than I expected, and I needed to call in some backup to help with the suspension rig. But I was fairly pleased with the finished outcome; the loop of it driving over the sand took me back to playing the game.
